My memories of Becky are scatter and sparse, yet vivid.  As a kid, she was always taller than I, and I never did catch up to her.  I remember seeing her at my sister’s wedding (~25 yrs ago).  She exuded warmth, light, and LOVE.  She didn’t hold back one ounce when she hugged me and said something like “Look at you!  You are grown up”.  Funny thing to remember, but she made me feel special.  I didn’t see her again until my visit with Uncle Jonny and Aunt Dorothy (~1999).  Becky made a trip to their house to see me.  My remembrance of Becky that evening is the same as before.

Did you ever see such lovelies !?  This is just one picture of the extraordinary times Becky and I had together as friends.  From dolls to children and families, we were able to share over 50 years of life together.  Our memories of our early homes, and adventures on Rhoda Island will be with me forever.  Thank you, my friend ! In the words of Dolly Parton, "I'm gonna miss you...!"

“Becky Annie roonie is my sweet heart.” This is the ditty my brother Joe and I often sang to our sister Becky during her first years on this earth. Joe was four years old and I was seven when Becky was born. We were thrilled to have a sister. We watched over her like mother ducks looking after their babies.

I recalled this a few weeks ago while gazing at Becky sleeping in her hospital bed. Although no longer my little sister, she was – and is – my precious sister.

She gave so much of herself to Rich – the love of her life; to their three children, Michael, Andy, and Cara; to our parents, John and Dorothy; and to her community and friends. Some of her happiest days involved preparing and presenting plays in local theaters. Some of  her greatest joys were reading stories to youngsters at the schools where she was the librarian.

Now, I hope, she is living the dream she told me she had not long ago: she and our Dad are talking and laughing, happy to be together again.

My memory of her is short and sweet.  It was always my favorite time of day when we would go to the library in elementary school.  She would show us around or explain how to find a book, but the best time was when we all sat around her and listened to her read us a story.  For some reason, I remember she always had a lanyard-type thing around her wrist that held her keys.  Whenever she turned a page while reading to us, the keys would jingle.  It has been at least 13 years since I was in that library, but I still remember those great times.

I have so many memories.  The first time I ever saw Becky was in our 11th grade English class.  Mr. Corseberg arranged his students alphabetically.  That put Becky right behind me.  When I turned around and saw her, she smiled at me and right then and there I knew I was hooked.  I didn't realize how badly but I knew she would be an important person in my life.

In our dating years we often went to the drive-in movies.  We saw Gone With The Wind at least three times and I had no idea what the movie was about...

Our camping years when the kids were little were the most fun.  We spent so much time getting dirty and then spent so much time getting cleaned up!  Everyone piled into a tent and trying to settle down for the night - not!  Later we had the Coleman pop-up tent trailer.  Becky insisted on getting it and it turned out to be a really nice way to camp.

In recent years we had so much fun hot tubing together and doing yoga together and theater together and restaurants together.  This house is already lonely without her.
